Re: Condolence/sympathy/memories messages - post here
I was at the concert in Milwaukee in September 2006 when Gord had just suffered a mild stroke leaving his right hand weakened. Terry carried that show in his understated way. His playing gave to the whole set the sense that nothing was wrong with the maestro. Every time I listen to Lightfoot music from hereon will bring a closer appreciation of the art of Terry Clements' playing. To his family and what must be a wide circle of friends and associates - my most sincere condolences.

I'm just shocked this morning to hear about Terry's passing. Must be tough on the band; those guys have been together for so long. It's like losing a brother. And what a fine musician.
Never had any long conversations with him but did say hello a couple times when passing the stage door on the way in to a couple of shows. Always a friendly reply. My condolences to his family and to all the extended Lightfoot families, friends and fans. Steve |

As a long time fan of Gord and his band, I can't imagine a concert without Terry would be like. He was always there, quietly doing a superb job. But our loss is nothing compared to that of his family and friends. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of them that their love and memory of him will help them through this difficult time.

I was thinking on similar lines. Our loss is the Angels and St Peter's gain I bet there is a wild jam session underway with Terry and Red feeding off of each other. just as they did when I first saw Terry in London in 1972 http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/LIGHTFO..._June_1972.htm My sincere condolences to all family and band members and all fans of the Lightfoot sound so very much due to Terry. |

To Terrys family and the rest of the band, I am very sorry to read of Terrys passing. My sincere condolences to all of his family and friends. I met him and had some nice conversations with him in the past years. A very nice man and a well spoken man. We will all miss him and his wonderful guitar playing.

To Terry's family, Gord and crew,
It took me several days to come to grips with Terry's death. He was much to young to die. It really was an honor for me to have known him a little, and to have jammed with him a couple of times. He really was a gracious man, and a very talented guitarists. Oh, the things he could make my old Martin D15 do just amazed me! The new guy Gord hired to replace him is also a very good guitarist. Though he plays a different style than Terry did, he will fit in nicely. But for most of us, there will always be an empty space up on stage for a long, long time. Losing a loved one is one of the toughest things any human ever has to go through. Just remember... after the hurting starts to subside, and it will eventually subside, you'll remember all the good times. They'll cause you to smile, or to cry, to feel bewildered, or awe struck. I'm hoping that Red & Terry will meet up, and have many heavenly jam sessions, and Dad, I'm telling you right now... get over there and listen to these two guys! Our heartfelt sympathy to Terry's family, Gordon, Rick, Barry, and Mike.
We had many happy memories of speaking with Terry after concerts. Terry even tied our then 3-year-old son's shoelace once. (got a nice picture of that!) Our Loss, God's Gain. "The Davis Family" - Kelly, Loretta, Jimmy, Melissa and Isaac |

It came as a total surprise to hear of his passing. I don't think that there will ever be anyone who ever could or would truly be ale to replace him. They might be able to [play well, but they'll never be able to really replace him.

Having said that, my eyes and ears were glued to him during many live performances and just by picking up on his quietly, magnetic, stage vibe and in occasionally watching his interactions with so many others after the shows, I truly feel our Earth just lost a big part of its genuine goodness and subtle luster..
