Re: Edmund Fitzgerald
Great news! On my local Fox affiliate (Channel 10.1) last night, they actually talked about the 35th Anniversary of the shipwreck. :)
They,of course, mentioned Gordon's song as well and they interviewed the Priest/Recverend at the Church and even showed clips of the vessel and reporters in 1975. :) It was mentioned that the lighthouse "bulb" had malfunctioned as well and then 17 miles from shore, they vanished off the radar. It ended with a Fox reporter stating,"It remains a mystery, other than the storm itself,as to what actually caused the sinking." Huh? I thought we all knew that by now. I wonder if any othr Fox stations around the country ran the same story? I;m sure glad they did. ;) |
Re: Edmund Fitzgerald
I happened to be watching The Weather Channel on the day of the anniversary, and while they didn't have anything new to say, it was rather interesting to get a glimpse of the inside of the museum. It looked to have several very interesting displays there. I just wish that they had done more than make a passing mention of Lightfoots song about the event.
