Jean Fowles, LOL, La mere est le coeur du foyer. Pretty good John. The mother is the heart of the home.

There is only {foyer} really, that you did not get...Jesse.

Mark B+ :D :)

Kate Bush and Natalie Merchant to name a couple. And I've always loved the exquisite haunting vocals and mystical Celtic lyrics of the one and only Loreena McKennitt. A voice like an angel.

Patty Loveless

I hope to soon start digitising a few old vinyl albums the first batch will undoubtedly include some of my favourite
lady vocalists including Mart Webb (whose solo album "Tell Me On A Sunday" is quite simply rivetting plus Stevie Nicks and
Juice Newton as I mentioned before. I was just a'googling for artwork pix of Marti's album and was surprised to see that
one result was http://www.corfid.com.
Ho Ho that's strange I thought so I investigated and found this referred to a posting by myself of all people to this
great topic which I then reread and thought,yes...
  • the newer members might like to add their thoughts
  • I had missed out a few ladies anyway
I fact watching a nice documentary on Peggy Lee on PBS during the week I remembered another fine vinyl album to digitise
her 1959 performance at a Miami disc jockey convention with the UK born blind jazz pianist George Shearing (George's album covers invariably featured a beautiful woman; he once said he knew they were beautiful "and I only read Braille!!)
According to a useful dead or alive site at
http://www.deadoraliveinfo.com/dead....hearing+George
George is still with us aged 87
Now where was I? Oh yes the Lee/Shearing album
http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/images/...d_The_Beat.jpg
great song here
Peggy on the Johnny Cash show
2 rereading this topic I noted that Jennifer was extolling the virtues of Celtic music, which took me back to a visit to a local UK convenience store many years ago where I heard for the first time the most wonderfully ethereal music and upon enquiry discovered Enya Eithne Patricia Ní Bhraonáin
http://discography.enya.com/images/albums/01_02a_lg.jpg
Enya's exquisite version of Marble Halls.
(My mothers final favourite song played at her funeral a few weeks before I met Susan in the GL chat room in 1999)
http://glchat.notlong.com
easy current link for Louise from Mnpls
I also forgot to include another Irish lass:-
Mary Black
and two other country ladies
Suzy Bogguss and
Beth Nielsen Chapman
A most beautiful song by Beth
hey this youtube caper is addictive the more you look the more to find and watch
