I seem to recall that when GL's daughter posted she mentioned that her Mother (GL's first wife Britta)loved garderning and lived in Fla. Hope my memory isn't faulty.

I believe GL was quoted as saying that he had a house in California (probably rented) during the time he dabbled with acting...
|
Brita was a 'snowbird' - she smartly headed south during the cold winters here..lol
odd considering she was Scandinavian.. lol But her home was on Lake Simcoe..up near Orillia.. |
Thanks for the interesting info re Florida. That stuff about Arizona was on an internet site that was rather bizarre. As I'm sure you know, there are some very bizarre sites out there! You who e-mailed me yesterday sound much more believeable. Apologies for talking everyone's ear off! Hope you all have a great long weekend! Sheryl

|
Hello, "new". I've only been on this site for a day but the people I've been in touch with are great - so you chose a good one.
I'm at work so can't e-mail too much. Are you at work and if so, are you counting down the hours until 5:00, like me?!? Sheryl |

Welcome!! Are you a fan of Gord's? It's always good to have young people that love Gord's music. In what other threads had you posted. I'd love to read them. |
Can you explain to me what a thread is? I first encountered that on a website about cruises and figured out it was about one certain topic, but I wonder why they're called threads? I suppose you maneuver through different threads depending on the site.
|
a thread is basically a topic and posts are added when people have something relevant to add to the thread/topic....the topics are at the top of the page..you named this one 'separation'..
|
Yeah, I kinda got that idea. This website is much more easy to maneuver around in than the first time I used one with threads - it's called Cruise Critic.com. Maybe just too many threads and too many people on that one!

Errr...ummmmm, so what kind of "experiences" are we talking about here? :) :D  |
Hi Jennifer! By "Experiences" I had meant VERY BROADLY the life a (at the time) a fairly famous singer/songwriter lived: the girls who wanted so much to meet him and give him notes, how the band had to live on the road, and with all these people wanting to meet him, how lonely that life was. I realized I wouldn't want to live that life but GL apparently thrived and continues to thrive on it. Also, having him tell me what he thought about other famous singers! Just getting to talk to this man one-on-one who (at the time, again) was so different personally from his stage persona. (He can be very romantic and caring sometimes like some of his songs, yet he could be very cruel in his comments at other times!)Him talking about (at that time) two kids and how much he loved them. Also, going "yacht shopping" with him. Having him drive my dad's car and really like it. Eating at McDonald's with him! Him not wanting to be recognized but wanting to at the same time! Like I said above, him singing "Beautiful" to me in his suite (and I was the ugly duckling who didn't get asked to the prom - that made up for a LOT!) And, as for "other experiences," all I'll say is, I'll have memories to keep me happy as an old lady at the retirement home! :)
|
Well thats just plain cool as anything! Thank you for elaborating and sharing some of those interesting experiences. I'm sure you'll cherish every single one well into your retirement years :) Thanks again - I couldn't help but ask!
