John - in the simplest, most concise way, can you post the 'before' and 'after' i need to put on the address of the image so it shows up. simplest way-no links, no rambling explanations. just : type this..type that.. end of tutorial.. no screen grabs etc.
I have taken out the http:// and put [img] in front of the address above and [img] after jpg at the end..

Wow wot a challenge. You have correctly posted your desired image's internet address (URL) I proved it by merely clicking it and up came the lightfoot family photo. To actually display it u then you have two choices(semi-automatic or manual). While the image is visible copy its address to your clipboard highlight it then press Ctrl + C
on the toolbar (at the top of the text input box) click the little rectangle with a small mountain on it (the third icon from the right if you hover our mouse's cursor over it a popup pops up clearly saying "insert image begorrah
A dialog box will pop up saying "please enter the URL of your image" with a box containing http:// which is highlit simply press the enter key and woosh it l disappear leaving an empty address box, Now with the cursor in the now empty box area simply press Ctrl + V to paste the address in from your clipboard. press OK and bingo
or the old longer method is to type the bulletin board's simplified tag then paste in the URL then type the closing tag
i.e. complete address
Those manual instructions can be seen if you scroil don on the linked page for "BB code" on
http://www.corfid.com/vbb/misc.php?do=bbcode
for your example therefore the exact syntax is to type your URL complete with the http:// prefix then
I will type it below but put imz instead of img then type it again with img

Hrrmph you had the incorrect address it is actually in full
http://www.fyimusicnews.ca/sites/default/files/lightfoot-family-ingrid-gordsr-jessie-gordjr-1944.jpg
hence http://www.fyimusicnews.ca/sites/default/files/lightfoot-family-ingrid-gordsr-jessie-gordjr-1944.jpg

The crux of the matter is obviously getting the correct URL. I haven't yet fathomed out why my first attempt to us Char's image URL with the and tags failed I just assumed that the URL she had posted contained an error even though I had originally clicked it and the photo of the Lightfoot family duly appeared.
Anyway itreminded me that I had posted a 2 part tutorial on how to find an image's URL in my Facebook Timeline and I had meant to adapt it to my regular onlne tutorial format.
This I have now done and you can see it at:-
http://johnfowles.org.uk/Tutorials/How_To_Get_The_Internet_Address_or%20_URL_Of_An_Im age.htm
30 April 2017 I have revised the filename of my tutorial and generally tidied it up plus I corrected a pair of typos.
I would note that all it really does is illustrate how to get the internet address in 5 different browsers which is essential information because one can only display an image that is already available somewhere on the internet(not a punter tried to do recently an image that is only on your own hard drive so do not try to use the local address)

Hi John.
As an active member I read everything that's posted here and I read your post. Please don't feel too discouraged.
Not having the will to follow the instructions in tutorials as I seem to have a natural talent to completely botch them, I wait to see the final product which you have produced here and I thank you. Also, if you recall, we both connected through "Face of A Thousand People" and that was a big highlight for me.
What's interesting in this picture is the larger image shows more clearly the two kids hiding in the tall grass behind where the family is sitting. It's too funny.
Even in the day it seems maybe unbeknownst to Gord, he was building a fan base.
