JIm I am not really sure why you entitled this thread
"Loudon's Take on Trump"
As your link clearly featured an American recording (presumably intended to reflect an American perception even though it mentions carpet bombing of Montreal!)
My problem is that I always confuse Loudon Wainwright 3 with
John D Laudermilk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n69RU1iXT4c
Loudon's topical opus is actually at:-
https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?visual=true&url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F264 752005&show_artwork=true&maxwidth=500&maxheight=750
Lots of great lyrics including
"Our new national anthem is My Ding a Ling"
but my favourite line is near the end
"Sometimes the nightmare is a reality"
but at least The Donald has good taste in his prime aircraft and its engines

A caption for another photo on the page I found that one on
The Trump jet seats 43 people, reaches top speeds of 500mph and also features Rolls Royce engines and 24-carat gold seatbelt buckles

i believe it started as an ode to monikers such as "the President", "the Boss", "the manager" etc.. - it just uses his real name and i guess that encompasses all he represents to any underlings. and now citizens of the u.s. lol...

According to his Wikipedia page:-
"Trump has been nicknamed "The Donald" since Ivana referred to him as such in a 1989
Spy magazine cover story"
UK readers may be unaware that the U.S. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus (yes that Mr Barnum as referred to by Gord in Lessons In Love) is closing next May
My guess is that they realised that their clowns would not be able to compete with the master clown in the White House!!

Actually John I believe the attendance fell off sharply when the elephants were removed from the show. I never went back once they did that.

I imagine that The Master Clown is wishing he had not bothered, after all he has fielded more flak in a short space of time than has ever had. But it makes interesting reading.

Washington (dpo) - As part of his plan to improve national security and combat illegal immigration, US President Donald Trump intends to send around 3 million American Indians back to where they came from – India. He is to sign an executive order to this effect this week.
In an interview with Fox News, President Trump described Indians living in the USA as lawless warriors with a history of attacking and killing US citizens. He claimed, "I’ve seen it in all kinds of TV documentaries. Horrible attacks on good Americans using hatchets or bows and arrows. You can’t trust these Indians."
President Trump consulted with the appropriate members of the government and found that most Indians do not possess the relevant immigration documents. "That means they are here illegally. I had to act."
Further criticism is to be found on the President’s Twitter account:
