Earlier this year there was a lawsuit where Led Zeppelin was sued by the existing members of Spirit for stealing a riff from one of there song for "Stairway To Heaven."

Spirt best known for a song called "I Got A Line On You" had a song from their 1968 debut called "Taurus'' in which they claim Zeppelin stolen from.

I won't type either songs since many know Stairway but type up Taurus and decide.

I think there is a similarity.

But here's 2 other such cases.

Almost 40 years later John Legend recorded this tune.

There's avideo for it but there's a part that's a bit off so I posted this instead.

Hey Touhy :) Long time no talk too.

Well, that question has several answers but let me just name a few offhand. (Maybe name some later.)

You Gove Love A Bad Name - Bon Jovi & Heaven Is A Place On Earth - Belinda Carlisle

Bad Time - Grand Funk & Like A Virgin - Madonna Mostly with her
Woah-woah-woah part sounding like chourus of Bad Time. "To be in love....to be in love".

Laughter In The Rian - Neil Sedaka & Anthony's Song (Movin' Out) - Billy Joel

Hope full-e more later. ;)

That's a whole big interesting subject. And nowadays with so-called sampling it gets even murkier.

Gord mentioned it the other night regarding The Wreck going so far as to say "who knows maybe I did steal that one" (I'm paraphrasing of course so no need to fact-check me,lol)

Listen to the intro to Same Damn Life and tell me what song that is. 10 points for the correct answer.

Bill :)
