This is one of my favorite national anthems to begin with. This was priceless!

I think "Advance Australia Fair" is below average for a national anthem (and as I've said before, it can be sung to the "Gilligan's Island" theme music).

The lyrics, which I consider bland and corny, are as follows:

Australians all, let us rejoice
For we are young and free
We've golden soil and wealth for toil
Our home is girt by sea

Our land abounds in nature's gifts
Of beauty rich and rare
In history's page, let every stage
Advance Australia fair

In joyful strains then, let us sing
Advance Australia fair

Beneath our radiant Southern Cross
We'll toil with hearts and hands
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands

For those who've come across the seas
We've boundless plains to share
With courage, let us all combine
To advance Australia fair

In joyful strains then, let us sing
Advance Australia fair.

(PS: I wish The Fanatics in tennis audiences wouldn't sing it. Come to think of it, I cringe when they open their collective mouths for any purpose.)

i was in the school choir from grade 4-6 and years 7 to 8, but no one knows the 2nd verse!. speaking of hiccups, a 3AW newsreader had a bad dose of them just before the bulletin, with some serious stories a few years ago. everyone laughed at it :)
