Hugh's Room is becoming a second home for me these days.

There's so much wonderful entertainment happening there it's hard to turn it down while we still have it available.

Paul Brady is one of those entertainers who has been out there doing it similar to Gord for forty odd years.

His music was introduced to me by my singing partner, Syd Baxter who hails from the same part of world as Paul, Northern Ireland.

Despite the fact that he came on as a solo performer it's difficult to find words to describe how he pulled it off sending orchestral sounds throughout the room with just one guitar and a booming voice.

Hugh's Room also has a piano on stage and it came alive when he sat down and put it to work.

He also cranked out a few on his ever sweet sounding mandolin.

His influences have reached out to many in the business including several of the biggies including Tina Turner, Bonnie Rait and Bob Dylan.

He played to packed room and being the seasoned performer he is his audience grew wild with applause as he pumped out original songs throwing in his own style of hilarious Northern Ireland accentuated humor.

I found it a captivating experience just being there wallowing in those familiar tunes that have graced my ears for such a long long time and now finally having the opportunity to watch him sing, play his instruments and work that room.

Winding down his show and trying to finish he left the stage several times only to return to encore yet again as the patrons were on their feet applauding wildly though to the very end.

A wonderful evening it was being entertained by a well seasoned performer.
