Though I have to confess, I'm not a major Holiday person, there's some songs I do like.
Here's a couple. First this Stevie Wonder Classic. Other have remade it but it doesn't compare to the original.
Stevie Wonder - What Christmas Means To Me (1967) - YouTube
Stevie Wonder - Someday At Christmas - YouTube
This is a new one I just discoverd.
Colbie Caillat - Christmas In The Sand - YouTube
I know Christmas In The Sand probably doesn't sound right but what do you expect from a California girl.
Love Colbie.
Here's a interview with Colbie and about writing the song.

There's also a longer version of the song, which includes a final verse as follows:
On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me
Twelve goannas going, Eleven snakes a-sliding,
Ten dingoes dashing, Nine wombats waddling,
Eight koalas clinging, Seven emus running,
Six ‘roos a-jumping, Five opals black,
Four great galahs, Three parakeets,
Two cockatoos, And a kookaburra up a gum tree

It is now Christmas Day on the US East Cast and a bit earlier we had a nice light snowfall
As my main contribution to this timely thread I wish my friends and fellow fans including Sydney hooligans my warmest greetings of the season, and make the observation that when one thinks of Christrmas songs one naturally thinks in terms of traditional carols, but there are of course a large number of other Christmas related songs that are not usually included in a list of carols, one of the best in my opinion came out of the 1950's craze for calypso music as personified by Harry Belafonte an acquaintanvcde o a young Gordon Lightfoot a few years later in New York, and who in 1956 recorded a lovely song that deserves to be a full fledged carol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfdx2V5sAic
In wishing one and all a merry Christmas a tad late I can do no beetter than quote one of the comments on that "video":-
"This is and always has been the song that gets me into the Christmas spirit"
Actually in years past we have often got into the spirit thanks to the non stop airing of Christmas songs by
New York FM radio station 106.7 a.k.a LiteFM

However This year Susan has created a long playlist using the Windows Media Player on her computer to rip the selection of Christmas CDs we have.
In previous years over the weeks leading up to Christmas as well as hearing Bing droning on about yet another White Christmas occasionally a Christmas song would grab my attention
For many years it was A Christmas Canon Rock by The Trans Siberian Express out of Canon in D Major written by Pachelbel in the 17th century
per the wiki "The circumstances of the piece's composition are wholly unknown. One writer hypothesized that the Canon may have been composed for Johann Christoph Bach's wedding, on 23 October 1694, which Pachelbel attended Johann Ambrosius Bach Pachelbel, and other friends and family provided music for the occasion. Johann Christoph Bach, the oldest brother of Johnann Sebastian Bach was a former pupil of Pachelbel"
There are any number of YouTube videos of this modern version and I have chosen a live performance (it is almost cetainly not the best one available but it was "Recorded on December 26, 2008, at the Air Canada Centre, Toronto".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edIyc6TfqGs
But more recently my favourite seasonal air has been "The Christmas Shoes"
For some reason I was sure it was sung by Dan Fogelberg but I drew a blank on YouTube
After a quick google later I found the correct answer is a "Christian group" called Newsong
WARNING. if you have not heard this before go and fetch a box of tissues!!

Hi all. :) I know I'm late in getting in on this talk of Christmas songs but ,
an amazing Billboard Hot 100 Phenomenon that started last year has doubled this year!
Older (maybe even those no longer with us) artists are making the
Billboard Hot 100 (and top 40 / top 10) with their never before charted tunes!
Some have peaked and some a re still climbing trhe chart. Including Elcis's return to the top 40 over 37 years later. :)
Starting with Mariah Carey's first top 5 hit in 11 years!
3 - Mariah Carey All I Want For Christmas Is You
8 - Bobby Helms Jingle Bell Rock
9 - Brenda Lee Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree
10 - Burl Ives A Holly Jolly Christmas
11 - Nat King Cole The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas To You)
13 - (Andy had already reached #10 last week)
16 - Gene Autry Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer
20 - Dean Martin Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow
25 - Wham! Last Christmas (I was VERY happy to see this)
26 - The Ronettes Sleigh Ride
28 - Gene Autry Here Comes Santa Claus (Down Santa Claus Lane)
29 - Jose Feliciano Feliz Navidad (Jsoe hit top 40 last week. His forst hit since "Hi Heel Sneakers" .)
32 - Perry Como (There's No Place Like) Home For The Holidays
34 - Bing Crosby White Christmas (Last hit with this in 1962!)
35 - Perry Como And The Fontane Sisters With Mitchell Ayres And His Orchestra It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas
40 - Elvis Presley Blue Christmas (Debuting at #40! Yaaay!!
42 - John & Yoko/The Plastic Ono Band With The Harlem Community Choir Happy Xmas (War Is Over) ** Still climbing chart **
43 - Darlene Love Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
45 - Chuck Berry Run Rudolph Run
49 - Frank Sinatra Jingle Bells * Debut*
There you have it folks. :) Ho Ho Ho!

Been a while since I've posted anything on the topic.
I learned of this remake of Joni Michell's River by Ellie Goulding.
Originally I thought she was just some modern day autotone pop artist but she's not just limited to that.
She also plays guitar and I think piano also.
YouTube
Sounds similar to "White Christmas" in the beginning where the person's now living in a warmer climate where they don't get snow.
