Lewis Thorpe, a 16-year-old from Doncaster (the suburb just north of my suburb) has got a huge baseball contract, which I understand includes a $500,000 signing-on fee.

Nice news. Wow. Even though I'm not that into sports, one of my favorite pastimes as a kid was playing baseball with my friends, and I also went to a few Twins games, so I appreciate the post.
