View Full Version : Oldies Friday - please post an audio or video link
can't find video of these cats, but 2 of my faves (always loved Evoy's clean voice) here:
YouTube - EDWARD BEAR YOU ME AND MEXICO
YouTube - Edward Bear-Masquerade
(don't think there's a need to post "Last Song", we've heard that 1,000,000 times, lol)
...and won't post 'Seasons in the Sun', 'If You Go Away' or 'Which Way You Goin, Billy?' but
always loved the Poppy Family (later, just Susan & Terry Jacks)
YouTube - Poppy Family - Good Friends?, Mar '72 - Audio Only, HQ Stereo, + Lyrics
YouTube - Where Evil Grows + Me & You & a Dog Named Boo (check out Kenny!)
well, post away if the urge (or memories kick in) strikes...one-hit wonders are allowed:)

just copy (CTRL C) the URL (address to the link) and then paste (CTRL V) here
YouTube - Michael Jackson "SHAKE YOUR BODY" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4KTfa7Apos)
he and another man are wearing shin pads (just for looks or was there some sort of stunt they did during this set? in other classic footage i've seen him without the pads but with athletic support...must be full contact moonwalking)
thanks for the contribution...i guess they are not in the one hit wonder category
I'm pretty sure this is a one-hit wonder. I'm surprised it's still taking up some much needed space in my memory bank....

YouTube - SIXPENTZ-TINKLE TALK
This was one of those obscure 60's groups and were out of Houston TX.
hey, i really enjoyed each add here...never heard of that bizarre Timothy tune or the soap one, fun:) - i know of the others except this last one, interesting
two to add here (not so 'oldies' perhaps)
this one paying respect to Jim Clench (April Wine) who just passed away...he also played bass for a few years with BTO
http://www.youtube.com/comment_servlet?all_comments=1&v=hoSVPiuNqHM
and i couldnt find a clean quality live (other than Bullard appearance where Emerson still sounds real good) performance so thought i'd post Suzie's cover...this gal don't need a mic to fill a room...may recognize here from the Rockstar INXS reality show...she's got the best pipes i've heard come out of the country this past decade, other than perhaps Nikki
YouTube - Suzie McNeil - Signs
keep em comin, Saturday comes quick...so does winter
i was just watching that Signs cover again when I wondered why I'd never heard of Kyle Riabko (guitar) before...i googled a bit, seems acting is mainly where he's been at...i suppose he has a 'few' good years left to pursue music
btw, glad they used that classic Wurlitzer for the cover performance..not sure about airplay in USA but almost anyone up here that hears that keyboard vamp knows what lyric follows
it's odd that they use a sign of Las Vegas in he montage...that's not the type (geographical) of signs they mean...they mean the type that char runs into "NO video, photography or audio recording equipment permitted" ;)
Surely some folks will remember this one-hit wonder. (I think we're ahead of schedule)

Pat Simmon's So Wrong.
YouTube - Analog Montage
Some vintage audio instead of an actual video.
Don't know if an actual vid was made for the song and if so it probably had an abbrieviated version of it.
