Warning if you have absolutely no interest in Chrissie Hynde please don't complain just find something else to doi!!
I can remember back in those wonderful days in 1999 telling Susan in the chatroom that one of my favourite singers was the lead singer of the Pretenders
In researching for this post I was very pleased to find Chrissie's version of one of my favourite songs
YouTube - Chrissie Hynde - Angel Of The Morning
Also I really love her signature song "Stand By You" and there are several live videos of it on youtube including this one
YouTube - The Pretenders live - I'll Stand By You
The idea for this posting began when an article in yesterday's emailed UK Daily Telegraph Bulletin caught my eye (OUCH)
Chrissie Hynde interview
and obviously I found it to be very interesting and hopr that you do too
see:-

it seems that Chrissie who has been London based for many years and has now reached the age of 59:-
"A couple of years ago, at a noisy party in London, a young (31) Welsh rocker named JP Jones drunkenly approached Hynde and told her she was awesome" (I have noticed that more and more concert goers of late are copying Dore and yelling out that Gord is awesome)
What followed is a sweet story because they obviously clicked in a big way, tried being lovers and have gone on to form a band
JP, Chrissie, & The Fairground Boys
and made an album together and are
currently on tour over here (including a concert in Toronto a week ago see:-

including
"Hynde’s opening set was a subtler appetizer, playing here not as the Pretenders but as part of a new project: J.P., Chrissie & the Fairground Boys.
The back-story to the group and its just-released album Fidelity! is this: Welsh singer-songwriter J.P. Jones met Hynde in a bar, they fell for each other and decided to hole up in a Cuban hotel to make music (among other things, we’re led to believe), only to decide that their age difference — she’s 58, he’s barely 30 — was too much to overcome in the end. So instead of lovers, they became songwriting partners, with the 11 tracks on their new album exploring the love and longing and loss they’d experienced."
"Hynde introduced most of the songs, explaining how they fit into the personal story the pair shared: “This is a song about a woman who’s going to stand by her man, well, until forever, even when the right one does come along,” she said in introducing “Meanwhile,” while “Australia” was written about the place where they first met."And if by now you are really really interestdi n chrissie's and JP's story take a look at
