AMAZING ONE WORD RIDDLE
Here is a brain teaser for you.
What if this was the only question on the exam to pass high school English and earn your diploma. Would you graduate?
What nine letter word in the English language is still a word when eight letters are removed one by one?
Take a few minutes to try and come up with a nine letter word that fits the bill, then watch the attached video....
Well, just watch the video....because you're never going to figure it out.

lol, because you embedded the video and it's default freeze frame, you don't need to watch the video to figure it out;)
there are quite a few answers...i think the Scrabble people would know this type of stuff
to answer your question = no:)

there are a few answers...i think the Scrabble people would know this type of stuff but in reciprocal fashion (ie. word building by adding letters to existing words in order to score)
to answer your question = no:)
You are right jj so now the freeze frame is no longer there, for future person(s) who might stop @ this thread.
BTW ! This was in my email inbox, so it is not my question >>> {copied & pasted it} But good of you to have check this out & leave a comment. :)

Err umm James
That is merely splitting hairs
Why not be REALLY SILLY
and try a 28 letter word:-
Antidisestablishmentarianism
Anti dise stab lish ment aria nism
wots that then?? see:-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Llanfair_PG
take away 27 letters and you are also left with one only an "I"
or to be REALLY REALLY SILLY try:-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Llanfair_PG
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysilio gogogoch
Llan fair pwll gwyn gyll goge rych wyrn drob wlll lant ysil iogo gogo ch
(58 letters)
"The village is best known for its name, the longest place name in Europe and one of the longest place names in the world."
"The name means: St Mary's Church (Llanfair) in a hollow (pwll) of white hazel (gwyngyll) near (goger) the swirling whirlpool (y chwyrndrobwll) of the church of St Tysilio (llantysilio) with a red cave ([a]g ogo goch)."

I can only ever remenmber the final go go gock bit!!!
The attachment below shows the sign at the railway station which gives an approximation of the correct pronunciation for English speakers

OK OK OK After I posted that I realised that my reply was in some ways REALLY REALLY REALLY SILLY,
but to be fair Omer's original posting omitted to specifically mention that after each letter's removal the remaining letters had themselves to be a proper word
I seriously considered deleting my post therefore but then thought "No I put quite a bit of time into making an interesting reply so let it be"
you can all laugh now
Laugh and the world laughs with you I think the saying goes
[B]Llanfair
that is what my relatives always called it for short...my distant roots are from near there....odd that i ended up with a one syllable name...maybe there were none left over after naming the town
jessi's riddle is a good one and i didnt come up with the 10 word one on my own but i did have to parse the word all solo...there are about half a dozen more answers i can offer for jessie's original quiz but let others try first
btw, jessi's original riddle did include the qualifier "remove one by one"...so i think he is laffing at you, not with you, sir J ;)
