fun, used to have laffs with this theme during band warm ups...it's true to a point...you will find the 1 5 6(m) 4 progression in many pop tunes and many others will have same chords using different progressions

...for instance, i earlier mentioned that K'naan's anthem chorus uses 1 4 6(m) 5...and then you have the classic 1 6(m) 4 5 used for beginner piano fun (Heart an Soul YouTube- Heart and Soul on the Big Piano) and for 50s high school, cheesy tunes:) YouTube- G17 - The "50s" Chord Progression -C Am F G - Beginner Guitar - with Ol' Gorebagg and Taki

i can't recall any GL tunes using this standard chord set (that is a compliment:) ) but he does have a few signature chord progressions that resurface here and there in his extensive catalogue

using the key of C with Nashville numbering in front of the respective chords, I've put an * beside the chords that are the subject of the 'pop chord' video

1- C major*
2- D minor
3- E minor
4- F major*
5- G major*
6- A minor*
7- B dim

certain GL compositions he will use the 2 or 3 or 7 as major chords, it's all good

the Piano Guy (Scott) is quite a character who I've enjoyed watching with his guests as they pick apart AC compositions...I wonder if there is a 'guitar guy' equivalent who produced a show....I used to tape the Piano Guy on PBS, before I went back to antenna for tv feed...aside, we actually used to get PBS on antenna before the swap to digital transmissions

thanks, char...that was a tightly rehearsed routine...BNL did something similar with Page breaking into that Celine ship song...that one is an example of the classic 1 5 4 5 being used to the fullest...then there is 1 4 1 5...etc, etc
