The institute, which awards the annual Nobel Prize in medicine, says the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research has since 2000 given more than $175 million to research aimed at developing drugs against the disease.

Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 1991. The disease is a progressive neurological condition that impairs the motor skills.
Fox received the doctorate in a ceremony in New York on Friday.

He's on the cover of Zoomer magazine this month - great article - Bryan Adams takes all cover pics and there's some fun pics inside too. Fox is an amazing guy with the most remarkable outlook on life - a life that has been full of adversity since he was in his mid 30's. I've got his first two books and a third will be relased in a month or so. His foundation has made a huge difference for so many people living with Parkinsons..
