I'm not sure what inspired this silliness, but it has some snippets of a few Lightfoot tunes in the 'soundtrack' :

I suspect you may have too much time on your hands!!

I found it by using some weird search terms.......like Gordon Lightfoot + bacon.

You are correct........waaaaaay too much time.

Google Nelson Eddy.......there's a ton of info.

i never knew about that particular fiasco (aliens looking down must think we're truly idiots)...glad the eyesore is now gone...seemed like a scene from planet of the apes or whatever

wonder how the GL track got by the youtube police...we had a family gathering by Gord's childhood home so I threw some clips together to a Gord track but it was instantly flagged and disallowed...I was kinda impressed actually...it must be an actual human who has this policing job (they must watch a whole lot of crap, that's for sure) as I can't imagine there's a software tool that compares the audio to a HUGE database of audio...btw, nice bridge

thanks for the first vid, love that sort of creativity and wit

ps) wonder if there's anyone one the planet who doesn't love bacon...i guess it's actually more of a sodium love-in

funny vid!

oh and timely...I just bought some nitrate-free apple smoked bacon at Trader Joe's
Saw it listed, on sale in this month's fearless flyer

Had it the other night for dinner -breakfast wraps I made with all-TJ's ingredients. Scrambled eggs, the bacon, dried cherries, a little cheese and garlic-spinach tortilla

'Curb Your Enthusiasm', 'Seinfeld' & 'Jay Leno'

i supposed it could be argued that GL has 2 last names;)

jjo, i've never even heard of that first program (am i the only one without HBO?), i've only seen about 3 episodes of the second (but i plan on borrowing a boxed set from the library and watching them all one weekend so i can catch up on what people have been making reference to for decades!) and i can take or leave Leno (that headline bloopers got old a looong time ago, imo) but i do tape the last 5 minutes of every show ie. his musical guests ...in general, i find these shows very whiney, like Woody Allen movies

BUT guys, thanks for the intro to this David guy, he musts be the quiet genius...i think the should run for president, i really like this one:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1309692922245007769#docid=79699402 99927345865

ps) some current event comments from jj:
- i like that they made public the names of two teen murderers who killed a 13 year old...and they got 'life' but they can be free in 10 years? ...even cavemen lived longer than 10 years so i think they need to fine tune that a bit

- the Tate killer finally died in prison...that is what i mean by 'a life sentence'...that evens the score for that killing and now she can go to hell in exchange for the taking the life of the -0.5 month old infant

- didn't mean to get heavy on this silly putty thread...talk about an odd justice system, how about this one?:

http://www.miltoncanadianchampion.com/news/article/280831

and to think i was nervous driving with an open six pack in the trunk

This is silly.....but I found it pretty funny....assuming you've heard about the uproar over the building of a mosque within blocks of the 9/11 attack.......

On his radio show, Dennis Miller asked his audience for ideas about what to place outside the mosque that would show the same irreverence to their religion. One caller suggested :

A hot dog stand with bikini-clad women selling kosher hot dogs.

That's just silly.....

Just something silly......
------------------
Ken and his wife Edna went to the state fair every year, and every year Ken would say, 'Edna, I'd like to ride in that helicopter.'

Edna always replied, 'I know Ken, but that helicopter ride is fifty bucks. And fifty bucks is fifty bucks!'

One year Ken and Edna went to the fair, and Ken said, 'Edna, I'm 75 years old now. If I don't ride that helicopter, I might never get another chance.'

To this, Edna replied, "Ken that helicopter ride is fifty bucks, and fifty bucks is fifty bucks!'

The pilot overheard the couple and said, 'Folks I'll make you a deal. I'll take the both of you for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the entire ride and don't say a word, I won't charge you a penny! But if you say just one word, it's fifty dollars’.

Ken and Edna agreed and up they went.

The pilot did all kinds of fancy maneuvers, but not a word was heard. He did his daredevil tricks over and over again, but still not a word.

When they landed, the pilot turned to Ken and said, 'By golly, I did everything I could to get you to yell out, but you didn't. I'm impressed!'

Ken replied, 'Well, to tell you the truth, I almost said something when Edna fell out. But you know, "Fifty bucks is fifty bucks!'

My silly something.

A young man in the the US won a ticket to watch Superbowl. He was overjoyed, he loved Superbowl but could never get a ticket. On the day, he arrived at the stadium and found his seat, but it was way up in row ZZZ and the view was not great. He noticed an empty seat way own front. He waited for 10 minutes and when nobody sat there he decide to nip down. An old gentleman was in the next seat, the young man asked if anybody was sitting there. "No" said the old gent "please sit down." The young man was overjoyed and told the old gent how amazed he was that nobody was sitting there. "The seat was for my wife, who has died." Said the old gent, "we were married for 50 years and saw our first Superbowl on our honeymoon and have seen every Superbowl since, this is my first one without my wife." The young man expressed his sorrow and asked the old gent why he had not offered the ticket to a relative or close friend. "I would have done." Said the old boy, "but they are all at the funeral."
