Probably about to do this vision correction after 40 years in glasses. Anyone have experiences? Due to my need for bifocals they propose "monovision"...one eye corrected for reading and one for distance. That kind of freaks me out, but surgeon says that if I hate it they will fix for free up to one year.

Hello Bill,
My wife had lasik 2 years ago, and as is typical for the over 40 crowd, was given mono vision. She loves not having to use glasses or contact lenses, and had no difficulty adjusting. The dominant eye is set for distance, and the non-dominant for reading. There is also a mini-mono, which sets the non dominant eye for intermediate distance, and glasses for reading. I have recently had cataract surgery on both eyes, and have mono vision lenses. Most people can adjust within a couple of weeks. I guess your Physician is simply saying that should you not adjust, it can be corrected. Well, that's my 2 cents worth.
