View Full Version : Toronto The Good?!
Interesting result in these recessionary times.
A Toronto newspaper conducted an unscientific experiment by dropping 20 wallets around the city containing some cash, personal items, ATM cards and contact information. Fifteen of Twenty were returned with two more phone messages regarding the wallets pending. Maybe Yonge Street is something to sing about!

hi yuri! yeah, i read that some of them would have a photo (kid/kids) in them and am thinking that might bring a more positive response than if not...the other factor i wondered about is how many of those who found them have lost or had their wallets stolen at one time or another...it's such a bad state to experience and one who has would get a very good feeling (speculating on the HUGE relief the recipient would feel upon it's return) by doing the right thing
i periodically check out the Acts of Kindness section...i click on various months archived and it makes one feel better about the world...i really need to write one based on an experience i had this past year...when you're on the receiving end (for a change, i like to think) it's very humbling

most of the time i lose my wallet or keys it's just my own absentmindedness

I'd hate to see what the results would be if they were to do the same experiment here.

We might be surprised, TT....maybe there would be more honest people than not. It's nice to think so anyway :)
That song is a riot, Peter Bro10 :)
JJ - yeah, I check out the 'Acts Of Kindness' column once in a while 'cause the regular news can be such a downer. Nice to see a glimmer of hope still lies out there for us over-stressed, over taxed, road-rage challenged, "your call is very important to us", 'gunman opens fire', CEO bonus - layoffs pending, citizens of this crazy world! I had a story of my own published in that column in January of 07.
Peter, loved that song - ain't it the truth!! Thanks for the Sunday morning chuckle!
