This is the semifinals. The winners will face off in the final, to be held under the glaring lights of the highly visible GENERAL DISCUSSION FORUM. Vote wisely.

rm, considerate of you to have the prelims in this forum rather than pack the GL section (they way most of us are guilty of)...I guess there will be two winners (losers), the standard release recordings as well as the 'rarities'...I guess we should have included the Hoola Hoop song, Daisey Doo and Betty Mae Was a Good Time Gal into that batch

I can't believe CYC didn't get a direct bye into the finals

thanks for coordinating this ...just remember Gord could be watching and may bring the topic up with you at a possible future backstage confrontation:cool:

do we need some scantily clad models holding up cards like they have in boxing?
lol

I tried flipping a coin but it got stuck to the ceiling.
So I guess it's Couchinching

I never intended to differentiate between rarities and standard releases. It was simply what Lightfoot tune have you heard that you just don't like.

CYC received no preferential treatment. It stands on its own demerits.

Ma'am,

We could use some cheerleaders. This inane exercise is not meant to follow the format of boxing, but rather the NCAA basketball tournament. I didn't know enough about hockey to apply its format.

ah, I see. I don't know basketball or football or boxing.
Hockey, baseball and golf - now we're talking.
If it were hockey we'd just drop the gloves and stick, toss off the helmet and have a go at each other..5 min.penalty for fighting. game misconduct for drawing blood.
;)

All I know is the tension of the Final Four seems to be setting in. We have ties in both brackets....

I logged in just so I could be a tie breaker :)

Ah! Tie- breaker! We'll see how that goes. You canceled my vote.... It was a close one anyway.

Ooh....Golf....now that might work......Match Play format, low score wins. Maybe next time.

OK this contest is rigged.

IMHO...I would consider having Couchiching win the dubious award but certainly not May I. Well I just don't know what to think. I don't particularly like May I. ..but its not out of touch with the times it was written. The vocals are of course great. Verse to chorus transition ..good. Melodic moments are catchy enough. But with Couchiching the chorus is not that interesting either melodicly or lyricly. The verse has a better melody than the chorus. ..thats not what appeals to me. And Couchiching is out of touch with time. ...Much like me.

Mini rant ended.

Anyway...

Love GL

Its all good.!

Mr. Stinson, each participant can only cast one vote. I've cast mine, and I assume you have cast yours.

I too have been dismayed with the results of some of the matchups.

This is a weird group.

Weird group? Well, you're weird but I am perfectly fine :)

LOL, Char :)

Agree to disagree...it kind of goes against human nature but I'll try :)

I wish this had stayed open longer,I would have voted easily for "May I".
