Gentle

YouTube - The Friendly Giant 1979

Kind (and often artistic)

YouTube - Mr. Dressup TV open 1984

and quite Twisted :)

YouTube - The Uncle Bobby Show - Bimbo the Birthday Clown

this 'Canadian' era was my generation as far as pre-skool goes

note: no offense to the late Uncle Bobby, I actually received a Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car from him on my birthday....it's that Bimbo that gave me the childhood nightmares, lol

actually, ironically I believe non of the above three gents were Canadian born...when Mr Rogers went back to the US it opened the door for Mr Dress Up (if any interested, char can elaborate and then some :) ) RIP and thank you to all the above shows for my 'nuturing', even Bimbo :)

I watched Chez Helene (that's the extent of my French ed, lol) also but can't find her on youtube...I wasn't into Sesame St, I'm not sure if it was on then

I realize that Romper Room was global...any USA or International child program clips on youtube that any of you recall shaping your youth in any way? :)

Gee this brings back some great childhood memories. Jerome the giraffe was my favorite. Something in the voice I guess .

And of course Finnigan with no voice... :)

it's hard to decide if my fave pupeteer was Ruth who handled Casey and Finnegan ...or the fella who near simulatenously did voice and action of Rusty and Jerome...I'm not sure who did the Bimbo or sock puppet on Uncle Bobby, lol

so no American contributions? how about Captn Kangaroo or Mr Rogers or Commander Tom fans....wrong era? then how about Howdy Doody?;)

in later year i believe Hilareous House of Frightenstein also contributed to my twisting, lol...it's good to see those Billy Van clips easily found on youtube ....even Chuck the Security guard ...those were the days....speaking of childhood memories , RIP Norm Marshall

As a kid I never watched any of those shows JJ..Captain Kangaroo and Romper Room was on sometimes but I don't recall much tv watching at all..
My kids, especially Lisa, watched Mr. Dressup..Darryl was more into the faster pace of Sesame Street.

Look up, look WAAAY up....
;)
