This morning, exactly 7 days before his 90th birthday, country legend Eddy Arnold passed away at a Nashville care facility of natural causes @ the age of 89 years and 51 weeks.

Eddy was known for his smooth singing style and songs mostly about heartbreak, loneliness and love. Especially in songs like "Make The World Go Away","I Want To Go With You" and "The Last Word In Lonesome Is Me".

I have a greatest hits collection and despite people's opinons that he was dull or corny & outdated,I definetly can say they were 100% wrong.

Rest in Peace Eddy.

Eddy Arnold was someone who recognized a great songwriter that a few in here are big fans of. He recorded John Stewart's July You're a Woman, She Believes in Me and Some Lonesome Picker back in 1970.

I can't think of anyone else who recorded three of John's songs on a single album.

We lost John back in January. Hasn't been a good year in that respect.

fezo,

That's interesting info. I'll check his versions out.
