has Florian modified something here
I have repeatedly tried to DELETE this duplicate posting but after I click the edit button which on mouseover clearly says edit/delete all I can do is delete the "x" but then I am smugly told that my message must be at least one character, which is far from helpful. In the past when editing there was an obvious pukka delete facility,in fact it was rather obnoxious because it was set to delete as the default not a simple edit, so if you did not have your wits about you (or you were asleep) then instead of editing you inadvertently deleted the whole shebang.

Tried again andv noted that immediately under the text area editing box there used to be two options
delete and edit
and a box entitled
"reason for editing "
IIRC if you then sellected delete you were asked to provide a reason for the deletion now all you get is the ' reaon for editing and nary a word aboot deletion
