Back in the 70's, I used to one of Jim Croce's albums that when you pulled out the sleeve, there was this super cute toddler picture on it. Adrian Croce. At that time, I had been living with a nice guy that had a son named Jon, (who is now my son's older half-brother), that looked almost exactly like Adrian. Today is Jon's birthday, so I was just thinking about him. I don't have that album anymore, but can someone post that cute picture if you have it?

I always did like Jim Croce. He and his guitarist on stage were magical. Same as Cat Stevens. Jim Croce & Maury Muchleisen died much to young... To think of the great music that could have been. :(

Thanks Char and Rainbow Trout. I clicked on the link, but it didn't work for me. Maybe this computer is just doing that right now. I used to love taking care of little Jon. His dad had custody of him. He sure was a sweet kid. Jon and Adrian still look very much alike. I wish I remembered the name of that album for sure. It could have been Photographs and Memories because that song was on it. The picture was as big as the album.

Works for me also Char ! :)
Jim and Maury were really special. Jim also had an outstanding birthday (January 10 - the same as mine but he had me by 8 years).
I always wonder how the face of acoustic music would be different had he not died young. It seemed to me that John Denver filled a lot of the void that was left after the crash but he didn't ahve the same wit as Croce.

I had to write down the link last night and then go to it after I logged off from corfid. I liked the pictures, but I didn't see the one mentioned above. But on that site they say there's more to pictures to come. ... thank you for your time.

NOW it works for me. For a while, I couldn't click on a link. This computer was treating a link like it was a pop up, and Blocking! it, but it's much better now.
Rainbow Trout, I think thats pretty alright that you have Alot of Croce LP's! He's one of my favorites. I think I like that Operator song the best.

Has anyone noticed that Jim Croce's Thursday reminds you a lot of Gord's
Did She Mention my name/That what you get for lovin' me

Hey Kevin,
I had never heard the song "Thursday" by Jim Croce, but did go check it out on You Tube, and yes it does remind me a bit of "Did She Mention My Name." :)

In "Did She Mention My Name", I think Gordon sounded like he was wondering if someone misses him and in Jim C's song, "Thursday", he sounds like he thinks that someone was rejecting him because she wanted to be friends.

Actually I was talking about the chord progression etc... Just go back and listen to the instruments. and the vocal phrasings, not necessarily the lyrics. By the way on Croce's the Faces I've Been Album (released after Jim's death) With Linear notes by Terry Cashman. There was a line about Crocee wanting to be known as the American Lightfoot.

Think I looked over that site before and it should says that one of Croce's earlier albums has a version of Steel Rail Blues.
