Wow, those are amazing pictures. Must be so depressing, though, to put so much work into something that's just going to melt away at some point.

Hey Char,
If I was in Toronto tonight, I would go skating in front of that City Hall... Nathan Philips Square. :) And would look & listen for a Taxi cab playing Gordon Lightfoot music. It would probably be Gord H's CD.

Last week the rink was nothing but a reflection pool because it was so mild here..but it's frozen again now! Lordy it's been windy and cold here..that taxi better have heat and hot chocolate too! Another nice place to skate is at the Harbourfront ice rink..

Extreme Cold Weather Alert in T.O.
Jan, 19 2008 - 10:10 AM
TORONTO - An Extreme Cold Weather Alert has been declared in the City of Toronto until further notice.
At 10 am Saturday it felt like minus 14 with the windchill, Saturday night we're expecting a low of minus 13 but it will feel much colder with the windchill.
So be sure to bundle up if you're heading outside.
For the city, when severe winter weather is forecast, the priority becomes one of immediate safety for homeless people.
Extreme Cold Weather Alerts open an additional 80 emergency shelter spaces in Toronto.
An extended outreach effort sees additional vans patrolling city streets overnight checking on homeless people and providing them with transportation to shelter.
