For those of you in or about the Toronto area, the annual Lightfoot Celebration at 'Hugh's Room' in Toronto will be held on January 18th & 19th of 2008. Local folk artists such as Jory Nash and Aengus Finnan will honour "the man" with their rendition of his tunes. Gord has been known to make an appearance. The 'Hugh's Room site appears below however January's schedule has not yet been posted.

Also of interest, 'Hugh's Room' will be featuring the music of 'Quartette' of which Sylvia Tyson is a member. They will be appearing on December 19th & 20th of 2007.

they have a new website now..and new menu! yahoo.!!
I'll be down on Frid.Jan.18th for the show as usual..I think I've missed only 3 of around 12 or 13 at Hughs..I did see the show here in Whitby and Port Hope tho!

I dont' think Aengus will be performing this year.He didn't last year but we got him up for the group finale of "Rich Man's Spritual"..

I am quite excited about seeing Justin Rutledge again..I really liked him and have his cd's..I have been known to put on cd's from Aengus, Jory, Ron Sexsmith, Justin, Suzie V. and Rick Fines..a lot of the Tribute performers and just let them play all day...
we're supposed to be getting a doozy of a storm later tonight and tomorrow so I'm not heading out anywhere..hmmm..good time for lisening to some of my fave performers..

jan.2007-me and The Boys..;)

Nice photo Char.
A Jory & Angus Sandwich!
I was speculating on Aengus being there as he is such a fan of Gords. Ooops!
Yes, Jesse Joe, Aengus is really down to earth - I've spoken to him on several occasions by e-mail and after a concert. And by the way JJ, we're sending what snow we don't use down your way...

Cathy in Northern Maine is about 450 miles further north than Toronto is!

You'd think after 52 winters I'd be used to it or at least like it a bit..but I DON'T!
lol

Over at NASA on the east coast of Florida this morning a friend was walking her dog in 39F temps and across the state in Sarasota it was about 45..and the whining I heard..omigoodness!!!!!!!!!!
lol

I start whining when it gets to around 58 out here and I should be used to freeezing temps coming from Germany. Guess I adjusted to California

Beautiful Kitchener Ontario is more to the south than a lot of US Cities. Spring is sooner than down here thats for sure. And then of course other cities further south than Kitchener is, including Windsor makes for a beautiful Southern Ontario. :)

Funny coincedance, Char, just today, I met a lady that used to know me when I was a kid. I gave her little dog a walk and told her how warm it was outside. It was 35 degrees fahrenheit (duh, don't know the celcius).

Yuri, that hughsroom sounds like a nice place. I'll have to tell mys sister about that... Her last name is Hughes. Just last week she was telling me about some nice folk place in Alaska that her friend went to recently, and that she would love to go to some place like that.
