For long-timers who have been on this board for years and years, I thought of bringing the original thread up (Violet/Annie) but decided to start a fresh one:

I GOT A JOB!!!!!

Sorry about the all caps but whoooeee it's been a bloody long time. It's not as a librarian but - get this, folks - I'll be back at my former employer! Honest. In this incarnation I will be the Client Services Coordinator for the laboratory. Basically, I'm the pointman (person) for the physicians, outside vendors, patients, etc. who are looking for lab results or reports. Lots of phone work. I also handle problem billing issues. It requires great tact, the patience of a saint (working on it), humor, skills of a detective, organization and ability to juggle eighteen things at once. Heck, that's me. I will be reporting to the current CSC, who's being promoted to lab supervisor, and working in the department manager's office. It's an exempt professional position with very good benefits (3 weeks vacation after the 1st year, for one) and the salary is almost par with what I was earning before. Our dog is going to be very lonely; he's used to me being home.

Way to go from me to Annie! YaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaY!! LOL!
I just got hired to a new place myself and I begin training on October 1st,so we both can jump up & down. ;)

Been a good long time for me too Annie. I've spent the summer working *ugh* temp jobs and barely scraping past the rent & bills. If I didn't live with my brother....oh boy!  My job is a 4 minute walk from home. Woo-hoo!

Wishing you the best of luck on your new status, you go girl!

Probably 3/4 year olds and 4/5 or 5/6 year olds, depending on what the cut-off dates are for kindergarten (nursery school and Pre-K in the U.S.) That's my guess. Char?

Thanks for all the good wishes - I hope we all do well. It'll be nice not to have to scrimp for a change. My luck is holding today; I won $12 on a scratch-off lottery card tonight. I'm buying at lunch tomorrow!

Congrats Annie,
There is nothing more satisfying*, nothing more rewarding, nothing that raises self esteem more that finding gainful employment at a job you truly love.
After a year and a half on 'long term disability' I am bored to death!! I work in a medical laboratory where the atmosphere is nothing short of crazy, chaotic, panic stricken, organized chaos, but I miss it almost as much as my colleagues.
Wishing you the best in your new position.

*OK, an evening of "Live Gord" is just as satisfying :)

J.K. - kids that turn 4 before Dec.31 and S.K. is for kids turning 5 before Dec.31.
they can go evey day for half days (morn.or aft.programme) and some schools offer all day/every other day and every second friday for SK.
The younger ones still need naps but don't get them. That's always the fun part of the day..I'd like to have a nap at that time..far far away..
