Phew. Please disregard this topic. I was trying to figure out my password. I registered some time ago, and then haven't been back in a while. But the Z-dude is back now!! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif

Took me 8 or 9 tries, but I finally got it right. I thought I was going to have to use another username. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/eek.gif

({Thousands of posts?}) Are you able to
edit your posts Borderstone? Janice said nothing has changed, for editing your own posts, I cant seem to be doing it anymore. Is it just me?

Charlene or Florian, can you answer me here?

Hi Jesse-Joe,

Janice is correct - nothing was changed about editing posts so it should work like it has done before.

Hi Florian, no it's the little box where we used to put a check mark in, it's no longer there.

IT doesn't bother me now that I know that it's not only me. BillW and Dave(djb) , said it was the same for them... thanks... Jesse.

BTW since the little white box was raised while I edited ( w/o difficulty), it may be noteworthy that I always found it necessary to delete all contents of the message first before the white box would delete... an newly empty message. n/p to me, logically we could still delete OUR OWN messages by editing and deleting all verbage ?

Has this changed ? No big deal to me. Thanks !

Steve

Once I tried to delete my topic in here (the testforum), and it said I wasn't allowed; only the mods could do that.

Funny thing, I have always found the white box to be ultimately superfluous to delete a message, since in order to delete my own message, I've always had to empty the contents of the message verbage anyway, then posting as an edit.

A message checked to delete with verbage intact never did work for me before the recent changes; but I had no problem when verbage was removed.

To my knowledge, that made the white box's only function I could see in the code was to remove the date/time and edit comment stamps. No matter to me, works then and now same for me just fine.

BUT.... we should believe each other as to problems encountered, given it is at least a moderately experienced member, as code is subject to "&if &then &do &else"-type nearly infinite variations that CAN lead to one member having a problem on one day through no fault of there own, and another not. Anyway, seems everyone is happy.

Like John I think, I have not been having a problem given my caveat, however I do recognize the validity of others. Chaos theory I guess.

I'm sure all of us who have written code for a living have seen our program break in just one case for one user (no programmatic error is suggested here), after long periods of time with no problems. I'm sure we could get the Navy to do a P.E.R.T. chart on this, but all seems well ! LOL :)

Thanks again Florian.
