I was thinking about taking a day off,too,but then my boss went on a business trip, so I took Harry to work instead. :) Don't know if I'll have time to answer the phones though. (lol)
Been hooked on Harry Potter ever since the first book came out. Hope the ending is a good one.

So far this book seems to be the best one, but it's different from all the rest. I'm on page 489 is where I left off. I still have no idea how it will end! :D

I have never read Harry Potter and only saw "some" of the first one becasue I was watching my god-daughter and she brought the DVD with her.

I really haven't the interest but I know I'm in a very small minority. :D

Okay I just got done with the book about 20 minutes ago. And I've got to say, J.K. Rowling is almost as good a writer as Gordon Lightfoot a songwriter/singer. :)

Just got back from our annual family vacation at the beach. Read book # 7 during the week. Great story - can't wait for the movie, LOL. Actually saw the 5th Harry Potter movie for the 2nd time while we were at the beach - my daughter and I took my pregnant niece. It was just as good as the first time. And my niece, who is 33, liked it as well.

No spoilers here !!!! Is the 5th movie pretty good? I had looked forward to the 4th one for years, but when I finally seen it, it wasn't what I thought it would be. :(

As TT said above it is very good, better than the last two, although I liked them also. It helps if you've read the book but it's not critical. Ask a girl to go with you and you can show your sensitive, literary side. Give it a shot Doug !

I thought the 5th movie was ok. Definitely better than the 4th, but I still liked Prisoner of Azkaban best. Probably because that's my favourite book in the series, too.

It seems like you would be lost throughout the movie if you haven't read the books yet; espcially the later ones. There's just too much in the story to really explain it in the movie. They're 3 hours long as it is.

I'm actually surprised that anybody who has not read the books can follow the storyline in the movies. I think only the first two movies were self explanatory, as they followed the books almost too closely which made them kind of boring in my opinion. In the last three movies I was really glad that I could fill in the "gaps" with bits of info from the books. Maybe they just expect that most people have read the book anyway.

I also thought that the actor who plays him the last 3 movies does not do him justice, really. He did come over as pretty nasty in Goblet of Fire, I thought. And I guess he can't help it that he does not really look anything like the Dumbledore I imagined in the books. The thing is the books are always so much better than the movies anyway.

It wasn't that he didn't look like Dumbledore, twas that he didn't ACT like him.

In the 5th movie, is he still the same nasty person he is in the 4th, or was he a bit kinder?

He was a bit kinder in the 5th movie, but then as you remember he did not interact that much with Harry during that book, at least until the Ministry battle.
You should definitely go and see the movie. It's well worth it.
