Hello Gordon Lightfoot fans!
I continue to pray for Gordon & I hope he's feeling better. One way to better health is through Liver Flushes, Love & Maple Syrup cleanse, etc.
Anyway, I just wanted to update folks here about EP...seems like only yesterday, but this August 16th it will be 30 years since his "death". There will be a NEW MOVIE coming out this year about EP called "The Truth About ELVIS". Please take a few minutes to watch the preview & listen to some possible NEW songs. Let me know what you think here or on YouTube...which songs you think could be the King.
I don't want to argue with anyone...there are those who believe that Elvis is dead & those who believe he still alive & well, so let's just agree to disagree on the issue. I just want those who haven't formed an opinion yet to listen with an open mind & respond with truth & kindness...as most Gordon Lightfoot fans are a cut above the rest! Enjoy! :D

Here's a song that I've always thought was prophetic...how EP possibly escaped to island in Hawaii...it's by Gordon Lightfoot called "Seven Island Suite". Let me know what you think of it. TK
Seven islands to the high side of the bay, 'cross the bay [EP into numerology]
To the sunset through the blue light of a fiery autumn haze
We went walking on the high side of the bay on a chilly morn
And we saw how leaves had fallen on the beds where trees were born
Any man in his right mind could not fail to be made aware [EP]
Any woman with a gift of wisdom would not seek her answers there [women wouldn't be bothering him here]
Seven islands to the high side of the bay if you're looking west
To the sunset you can see it, all in fiery autumn dress [Loves Sunsets]
Anytime would be the right time to come up to your bed of boughs [Loves Hawaii]
Anybody with a wish to wander could not fail but to be aroused [Beauty]
Living high in the city, guess you think it's a pretty good way [to get away]
You get to learn but when you get burned you got nothing to say [He was]
You seem to think because you got chicken to go you're in luck [fried chicken]
Fortune will not find you in your mansion or your truck [Graceland]
Brothers will desert you when you're down and shit out of luck [Red & Sonny West]
Look around at the morning, guess you're doing the best you can
Surely you know that when you go nobody gives you a hand
Think of the air you're breathing in, think of the time you waste
Think of the right and wrong and consider the frown on your face
It's time you tried living on the high side of the bay, you need a rest
Any woman or a man with a wish to FADE AWAY could be so blessed [this is one option for EP]
Fortune will not find you in your mansion turned to gold [EPEnterprises]
Brothers will desert you when your nights turn long and cold [Judases]
If you feel it you better believe it, you're gonna see it, so you really [needed it] know
It is rising like a feather, dipping and dancing from below [Native American reference]
There's a new wave that is breaking in the wake of a passing ship
Every nation's gonna be shaken, put it together, don't let it slip [ELVIS REAPPEARING?] [maybe as soon as July 2007]
It's time you tried living on the high side of the bay, you need a rest [got the rest he needed]
Any man or a woman with a wish to fade away could be so blessed [he has been]
Seven islands to the high side of the bay, 'cross the bay
To the sunset through the blue light of a fiery autumn haze
To the sunset through the blue light of a fiery autumn haze [Hot August Night]
In Elvis Presley's cover of Lightfoot's "Early Morning Rain", Elvis changed the lyrics in the 4th verse from "...as cold and drunk as I can be..." to "...as cold and drunk as I might be...". Gordon has remarked, while perfoming live, that he is amused at this change, and
he now sings the song this way.
In his last CBS-TV Special in 1977 "Elvis in Concert", he sung In The Early Morning Rain.
Elvis introduced June Carter to John Cash.
EP was singing Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain...playing the piano, his last song before leaving. In March listening to Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain, I wrote these words while thinking about the events of 15 and 16 August 1977.
There was a Midnight Ride
Somebody died
Someone cried
Everybody lied
They had to hide
And took a midnight ride

Elvis is dead. Otherwise, we'd've seen him already. Why would someone hide after all these years?
