Have a nice weekend all you nice people out there ;in Germany we are celebrating Whitsun and Whit Monday this coming weekend and on Tuesday all schools are closed as well; so starting now I have a loooong weekend . We are planning to go to Hamburg for a `summer-in the-city kind of day, but 10 minutes ago it started to rain. Oh ,well. So now I´m surfing the net looking for accomodation for my summer trip to the U.K.- first one in more than 30 years!!! Those sites are huge! (esp. "bedandbreakfasts.co.uk" ) Have a look. So, have a very sunny weekend you all. Have fun. Vera

We cherish too, the Poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led,
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies.--Moina Michael

I just read your other post. Didn't see it at first. How long have you been a fan of Gord's.I noticed that you are a teen. It is always nice to know that younger people enjoy Gord's music, also.

Hi, Louise
Whit Sunday is the seventh Sunday after Easter, when Christians celebrate the Holy Spirit coming down from heaven. Its also called Pentecost. I think Whitsun being the British word.In Germany Monday following this Sunday is a legal holiday, with all shops closed. Vera

Hi! Thanks for the info. We have Pentecost. Just didn't know it by it's British name. So many of us have a Holiday on Monday. :) Here it's the beginning of Summer, too. Many schools get out right after Memorial Day and some are already out. "Summer" what a wonderful season! :) :)

:) Hi Kerstin,
looks, we 'Germans' are all going back home in the summer :) I'll be in Hannover from mid June to mid July. So let's hope, that all of north Germany is going to have a great and sunny summer - not always the case...
Have a safe trip and don't forget the Gordon collection...

Those lyrics are from the song "Freedom Never Cries" by the group Five for Fighting. John Ondrasik is the group's lead singer and songwriter. If you're not familiar with this young man's work, search for his videos on youtube. Like our man GL, Ondrasik is truly a poet.
