Couldn't sleep; surfed over yonder to Kingston Trio Crossroads; found stuff 'bout New Christyfolk - here's more:
Some 15yrs ago, BarryMcGuire was kind enough to come into The Puppet Factory at Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa and be Uncle Ned's guest. Since I was Uncle Ned, it was just me and Barry in the wee converted stockroom studio. A very precious time . . . for the Puppet Factory Pardners and for me. A fresh infilling of wonder, that's what Barry brought. And kids [to this day] are hearin' him wrap himself around the tongue-twister.
Hey - I'm just a Piano Guy, but I got to sing a duet w/ Brother Barry. Big Blessings.
That day, Barry asked me if I thought there would be an audience for the Minstrels still out there? How Big Could I Say Yes? I'm thankful for this re-birth a-long-time-a-comin' - and that long ago Puppet Factory day.
Further up the road, when Barry and Terry Talbot duo'd up - they sang for the Old Folks in Petaluma while I sang for the Kids [as Uncle Ned] But, I got to see most of Terry & Barry's pgm. Now, to see that Big Ol' Grin and Big Ol' Heart alongside them other New Christyfolk . . . well, it makes Uncle Ned smile.
I don't get out much, seems - but I sure am glad I got out here tonite. Gotta tell Barry, if he can get Randy et. al., to Orange County, CA . . . I'll give him a cookie.
