Hey I thought it would be fun to find out what celebrities/stars/entertainers you all have met in your lifetime. I'll start.

Back in the mid-80's I was at a Willie Nelson concert at a summertime county fairgrounds type venue, and while at a vending stand (can't remember if it was t-shirts or beer), one of his Roadies asked me if I was a Groupie and if I wanted to get back stage. Of course I said yes, and so I got to go back and when Willie came off the stage, I was there to meet him, gave him a kiss, asked if he wanted to party... He declined. I was young and foolish, pretty and fit, and so I guess they rounded up young women like that for Willie to meet after every concert. It was pretty cool. And by the way, I saw him this past summer, and they still carry on the practice of asking pretty young women back stage to meet him. This time I wasn't asked back stage. :( Some may say he's a dirty old man, but I think it's kind of sweet, and proves it doesn't matter how old you are physically, but only how old you feel.

Another time, also in the mid-80's, I was at a Dianna Ross concert, and we had these awesome seats, like about 3 rows behind the brass section of her traveling orchestra, and my husband and I were on our feet dancing, and we kind of got into a groove, you know, dancing in sync, and it caught Dianna's eye, and she motioned for us to come up on stage with her. So we did, and I'll never forget, I was wearing cowboy boots with heels, and I'm pretty tall anyway, and so there I was, towering over a teeny tiny Dianna Ross, and my husband was there too, and of course once we got up there, we couldn't remember the dance moves we had been doing, but she sang a song with us up there standing on stage with her, and I can't even remember which one it was. When she was through, she asked if she could give my husband a kiss, and I said yes, and so she pecked him on the cheek, and then gave me a hug, and then we went back to our seats. It was pretty incredible.

Anybody else have any stories they could share?

Let's see.....

I was an Adonis, and I served cherry pie and coffee to Marty Robbins at the Holiday Inn in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Not quite as exciting......

Well Gitch,I've talked of these before but it's well worth repeating.

Does simple acknowlegement count? :D
If so,Colin Hay,lead singer of Men At Work gave a thumbs up to my hand drawn poster at a 1983 concert.

My first real celebrity encounter was none other than DJ/TV star Wolfman Jack! In early 1983 he was at the grand opening of a store in a plaza just down the street from my house.

He broadcasted live on Kool-FM and asked me my name. I told him and he said over the air that my last name was a rare funny kind of bird! :D LOL!

He also said,"Rememeber the song Running Bear?... That's what were all gonna do in the parkin' lot after the show!"

I still have his autographed picture in a frame. I was totally bummed out when he passed away in 1995. :(

I didn't meet another famous person until 1994 when I met Fred "Rerun" Berry at the local grocery store I worked at. Still have his autograph too and again, sad another one I'd met passed away later on.

Then there's when my brother and I saw Warren Zevon at a Scottsdale club,it was basically that I said "Hi,Mr. Zevon good show". He kinda nodded a thank you.

Then there's Alice Cooper who I met at the country club that he's a memeber of & where I worked at the time. I wish I could recall what was said but it just surprised me and I know I didn't say much.

I met the then curreent line-up of Little River Band at the now defunct Red River Opry house in Tempe. All but one or two signed my "Sleeper Catcher" LP and I got to talk with them for a few befoe my ride showed up.

Lastly about 4 years ago,I met a few members of George Clinton's Parliament/Funkedelic at a (now closed) record store appearence.
(George Clinton was supposed to be there but was dealing with legal trouble in California.)

After that,Gordon of course! Twice. ;)

Now,if I meet Mariah,I know exactly what i'm gonna do.....faint. :D LOL!

Not quite as exciting...... I would have thought it quite exciting. Just loved Marty Robbins. Dick Van Dyke would be nice to meet to - hmmm my age is showing.
