View Full Version : 'Time's' 100 all time albums
Time magazine published a list of 100 all time albums. I don't know what their criteria was - sales, popular vote?, airplay?. What was the age of the judges? This topic is so very subjective!

We are all in this group as we realize that Gord is our personal secret and won't be found on their 'flawed' list.
Regardless, what do you think? Agree? Disagree? Major ommisions?

1980's:Madonna's "Like A Prayer" album #1 and "Purple Rain" way down on the list??!
Is the person who made this list an idiot? "Purple Rain" is not just "the" best album of the '80s,it's practically the one that defines my generation and the 80s themselves!
That album is really the only 80s album (besides a select few) that I play all the way through every time and is one of the few 80s albums that is still relevant. It sounds 80s but it's timeless just the same.
It won an Oscar for best original score, won Grammys and the hits from it spanned a full year! It's one of the main reasons Prince is in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Thankfully,I never really take these lists too seriously, they're just someone's opinion. I would comment on the 1970's list but I can't be here all day! :D LOL!
