HONOLULU (AP) - Don Ho was released from a hospital following a two-week stay after having a new pacemaker installed.

"I'm recuperating from the hospital! I feel great," the 76-year-old Waikiki crooner said Thursday as he had lunch at one of his favourite restaurants. Ho, known for his signature tune "Tiny Bubbles," had the pacemaker installed Sept. 16.

In December, he underwent a new heart treatment in Thailand that hasn't been approved in the United States. The procedure involved taking multiplying stem cells from his blood and injecting them into his heart in hopes of strengthening it.

While in the hospital, Ho said he was considering additional stem-cell treatment.

Ho said Thursday he hasn't decided when to resume his show at the Ohana Waikiki Beachcomber hotel.

He has entertained tourists for more than four decades and hosted the "The Don Ho Show" on ABC in 1976-77.

It's a sad thing to read Jess. :( I didn;t realy know much about Don,except the song he's known for "Tiny Bubbles" and his guest spot on The Brady Bunch 35 years ago.

I also know of his daughter Hoku, who had a hit in 2000 called,"Another Dumb Blonde" from the movie Snow Dogs. I'm sure she's hurting very much today.

Rest peacefully Don,we hardly knew you.

Same here Borderstone, was not familiar with him except that famous Tiny Bubbles song. He did a spot of all places on the Grand Ole Opry, a few years back. He was in Nashville, and I guess they invited him, on that particular Saturday night. I cant remember the song he did, maybe someone else here saw it, and will post it.

My sister got to meet him in the mid 70's. While vacationing in Hawaii. They went to his show and got to spend some time with him after the show in his dressing room. He was interested to hear about where they were from. My sister was living in Kitchener, Ontario, in those days. And coming from them I guess he was a real fine gent...

I remember he used to be on TV quite often when I was a kid. Tiny Bubbles was a big hit. What a shame.

Daughter of entertainer Don Ho found dead, weeks after father passed away.

Saturday May 12th, 2007

HONOLULU (AP) - Dayna Ho-Henry, daughter of the late entertainer Don Ho, has died, a family member said.

The 51-year-old's death comes less than a week after the May 5 beach funeral in Waikiki for her father, who died April 14 of heart failure at age 76.

Ho Henry's body was discovered Friday at a home on Oahu's North Shore. No other details were immediately available.

She was the third of 10 children of the legendary Hawaii entertainer known for his catchy signature tune "Tiny Bubbles."

"The family is grieving the loss of my sister and we're just trying to make sense of it," Ho-Henry's brother, Dwight Ho, told The Associated Press.

Honolulu police spokeswoman Michelle Yu said no foul play is suspected.

The family Friday was gathering to mourn Ho-Henry's death, much like they did just a few weeks ago for Ho.
