Crossing Canada

One-legged cyclist and cancer survivor David Visschedyk pedals on Mountian Road yesterday in Moncton.

He is cycling across Canada in support of cancer research for the SickKids Foundation. He will cover 6,900 kilometres in 57 days. A disciplined and enthusiastic cyclist, Visschedyk lost his leg at the age of eight to osteogenic sarcoma, the same disease battled by Canadian legend Terry Fox. Funds collected by CanadaWide for Cancer will go to The James Fund for Neuroblastoma Research at the Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. Visschedyk made a stop yesterday at Magnetic Hill Home Furniture, where he received two cheques from Home Hardware for $5,000 and one from the staff who also raised $2,000. No Misty Moppens I didn't see a guest book either, I suppose he would not have time to sign it. I dont imagine he will be going by Cap-Pele. because now the TCH overpasses that village. In 1980 the TCH was passing thru Cap Pele. And Terry Fox went by there...Jesse :)
