Don't have much interest in him but I learned some years back that in was in 1968 he released his first recording and not 1970. I don't know if he recorded a full LP but if so it included the song C.O.M.M. Tayor recorded it England and McCartney played bass on the song. which version of C.O.M.M. was more popualer? 1st or 2nd version?

It was then on 1976 Greatest Hits:and MUCH nicer and bigger hit-whata great talent.

JT is also one of my favorite performers. I think he sounds much better now than he did 30 years ago. His voice is improving with age, much like a fine wine. And as Char mentioned, he demonstrates a wonderful, self-deprecating sense of humor in concert. Not to mention he is a fine musician as well. I better stop now before I'm completely overcome by feelings of jealousy and inadequacy! ;)

I like James Taylor as well, have practically all of his hits on "best of"'s pts. 1 & 2. I also have a niiice copy of "Sweet Baby James" & "JT".
"You've Got A Friend",I'm very sure,ws the 1st song I heard by him. After that it was mostly on lite rock & oldies stations that I caught up.
You'd think I'd have more of his stuff but I just haven't bought it. No reason really. Ah,next stop...record store! :D

I never realized that there were two versions of this song. I'm only familiar with the version on the 1976 Greatest Hits album. Never heard the other one. I, too, like a lot of his songs.
