And don't worry ...
Just spoke to her on the phone. She has changed her plans and will be taking her own apartment after all. She won't move in until July 1, so she will be offline until then.
Also, for those of you who are waiting for her CD, the plan is to release it in the Fall (in keeping with the winter theme). I know. It has been a long wait, but now it's just around the corner.

Hey Cathy it's really good to have you back, I really missed you. Your good humour and you and your good smelling guitar.LOL
Here sometimes it is tough, there's alway's someone that wants to rain on your parade. I dont know why? I guess people will always be people.
What is it exactly that happened to you. A flood, and then a change of house. and if I understand correctly, your now in an appartment. Please correct me If Im wrong.
Anyway welcome back, to a site that I dont know how it's going to end up here, for me...Jesse.

A flood? Gee, I don't think I went through a flood...
About 4 years ago, my house in Limestone got hit by a 3/4 ton pickup. In fact, the pickup ended up in the livingroom, and shoved the house about 5 inches on the foundation. The house was a total loss. The insurance company paid me what it was worth, and ended up tearing it down, after the upstairs bedroom caved into the livingroom.
After the house got hit, I moved in with my brother for the winter, then to an apartment in Limestone, and my youngest son lived with me off and on. Then a year and a half ago, I decided to move to Presque Isle, because I worked there and was tired of making the 56 mile round trip every day. Again, my son moved with me, but ended up moving to Boston for 4 months, then back with me. Right after Dan moved back last summer, one morning he found me unconscious in the basement. I'd had a ruptured aneurysm in my brain, something most people don't live through. They flew me to Boston, where I lay unconscious for a month, then to Bangor to see if they could get me to come to. One day, I just woke up and said, "Where the hell am I and how did I get here?" I had a lot of brain damage... my right hand was curled up and wouldn't move much, and I couldn't walk at first. For some reason, within a week I was walking pretty well, could talk and was in pretty good shape. I stayed in Bangor for 22 days, then came back home and started going to therapy, mostly to get my right side back up to strength. I'm still going to therapy, mostly just to try and improve my short term memory, which was pretty much wiped out by the stroke.
Because of the stroke, I was told I couldn't live alone, and when Dan moved into the house with his fiance, I went with him, but that just didn't work out. You know how it is when there are two women in one house. One of them is always in the wrong (me), so I talked to my doctors and they decided I was better off on my own, where there was less stress. I got an apartment in my home town. I'm not able to work (stress and memory problems) but I have a private disability policy and that's more than enough to pay my bills.
It's funny. When I couldn't move my right hand much, my biggest concern was that I'd never be able to play the guitar or fiddle again, and that was worse than death to me. I remember hoping I'd just kick the bucket in my sleep. But it eventually all came back. It's been a lot of work, but I'm pretty normal, or at least as normal as I was before the aneurysm.

Hi Cathy,
Poor you, a truck in you living room, really lucky it didn't hit you or your guitars.
The aneurysm is kind of ironic. I have an Uncle that lives in (Fitchburgh), Mass. About 3 weeks ago he suffered an ruptured aneurysm also in his head. And that's where he is right now, in a Boston Hospital. He is in his 80's, so dont know what's gone a become of it.
Around 1992-93, I was splitting wood, at that time I was heating my home by wood. I dont know if you ever saw one of those gas powered Wood Splitters (http://www.timberdevil.com)? I will put a photo of one on the bottom of this letter. Anyway I had my left hand holding this big piece, where the metal part pushes the wood, and it caught my left index finger. On my way to the hospital, I remember thinking , how am I going to play an "A" chord now. LOL That was also my biggest concern. Today I play better than I ever did. I guess I wasn't going to let a wood splitter, end my biggest passion.
Well glad to see everything is pretty normal. My goodness, I had heard lots of different stories about you moving. Now I know the real story.
Do take good care of yourself, Cathy. Life is precious and short. Your Lighthead friend...Jesse. :)

Oh, I know what a gas powered wood splitter is. I live in Northern Maine, where a lot of people still heat with wood, and have piled a few cords in my day.
Yes, I've had a couple or rough years. My father died, Mom moved away, a truck went through my house, I moved to Presque Isle, I had an aneurysm and almost died, and can no longer drive or work. But I'm planning on trying to get my license back. I miss driving, and to tell you the truth, I've driven a couple of times with no problems.

Hey Cathy - you've been thru a lot but we're glad you're back and doing so well.
I don't know what Jessie-Joe means by "Anyway welcome back, to a site that I dont know how it's going to end up here."
But I do know Florian is working on a new location for CORFID and should have it up and running soon. So that's what I do know about this site and where it's going to end up.

Charlene, I was talking about myself, there's alway's someone trying to stir the fire, and throw some fuel on it.
It's kind of, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen," type a thing.
In the meantime click on this link, for a little humour...

JJ - I wasn't referring to the fuel on the fire sentence. That's fine if you were speaking about yourself.
I was referring to the broad statement "welcome back to a site that i don't know how it's going to end up."
Sort of an open-ended doomsday kind of statement so I let Cathy know about the new place we're looking forward to.

Oh, don't worry, Char. I don't think this site will go the same route as the newgroup. That's as dead as dead can be.
And hello, Geo Steve. How are you doing?

Yesterday, I typed in "corfid.com" at the email address bar, and it said 'sorry, this site doesn't exist' (or somthing like that; you know what I mean), so I figured you all had already moved. So I went to Yahoo and typed in "Gordon Lightfoot discussion forums", but couldn't find any other forums other than this one, so I clicked on one of the links, and it turned out this site was still up after all. :)

Borderstone my good Dude (Walter), that's because I brought it from the past. It was originaly posted by vlmagee, on June 6 , 2006. Cathy was saying, Hi. And on June 6, there was only 3 reply to that post.
So Cathy being the wonderful person she seemed to be, I brought it back from the vault,LOL :D on July, 14. To let her know, that I am a true friend. Plus it's givin her all those wonderful welcomes, which I feel she rightfully deserves. :)

Good luck with your CD! :) Hi Mr B. You don't have a home PC yet? Too bad you don't live closer to my son, Matt. He repairs old PCs that people give him. and usually ends up giving them away
