And my psychic side is telling me a name...
I see an "R"
Oh, I see "Y"
Now an "A"
Finally "N"
That spells out the name "RYAN"
Any connection there?

Oh, the image is getting stronger now...
I see "H"
A couple of "O"s
Now a "V"
An "E"

He'll play nice, his mom posts here!
He's a good kid, you won't see disrespect.
(he just said, "that's right, straight up.")
If he embarrasses me, I'll pretend not to know him, and I expect everyone to support me in that. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hey, SM, he can't answer as I co-opted the computer. However, we figured you obviously got it from the URL of his pic, once we stopped to think about it. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

Yes I am being a real smart @$$ today! Too much DMD3 I guess... By the way, the URL only gave me the filename RYAN.

Hi Ryan Hoover
As your mother found out on her topic
http://www.corfid.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002480.html
you have to use a web site URL...
you used, like she did, a hard drive address viz:-
"C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Ryan/Desktop/IMG_0740.jpg"
To emphasize what I said on her topic your browser (most likely Internet Explorer) is probably set up to be the default viewer for
<LI>all web sites,and
<LI>web style pages (i.e. files ending in .htm or .html and
<LI>at the same time most or even all graphic files such as .jpg and .gif
( some gifs are animated pics as the honourable stationmaster is now so adept at finding and displaying.Hence if you paste in a hard drive address ending in .jpg to a web page such as this topic page. The poor old browser foils you by displaying the actual corfid page and at the same time links to your computers hard drive to display the picture. Hence to you everything is fine and dandy but to the rest of us our browsers do not have acess to your hard drive so the result is the page includes a red cross in a white square symbol.
But if you sent everybody your actual jpg file by e-mail and asked them to put it into a folder with the exact same name as on your computer they would then see it too. The lesson is the URL of the picture must be a web site one starting with http. I hope this helps.Geddit???

Welcome, Ryan Hoover! This is such a great site with some amazing folks on it! You'll also read some pretty funny "battles" going on. You will figure out who the combatants are, but WELCOME!!!

nah, he's also a "juggalo", otherwise known as an ICP fan (Insane Clown Posse). He's been off on other sites and out with friends. He's a pretty popular guy, judging by how often the phone rings for him. I'll tell him to bring his butt back on and say hi. He was off at hte Clark County Fair today. He's 19, has a HUGE social life...

Social Life? http://www.corfid.com/ubb/confused.gif Uh,what's that? Souinds familiar. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Insane Clown Posse? I had hoped they died along with the end of the nineties! (Not to mention the 20th Century! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/eek.gif )

I'm not usually critical in a negative manner about most music acts but I thought ICP stood for Idiots Caterwalling Puke.

I may be out of the modern day music loop but I know what I like....and that isn't it!!!!! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/eek.gif Later! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif

Oh, B. You're not the one who has to listen to it. lol. Plus, we go for musical diversity in this house...to each his own. I don't listen to them (not by choice anyway..sometimes that stereo gets outta hand). He also likes Barry Manilow, Ani DiFranco, rap (I can't name the artists..), Meat Loaf (good boy), Scorpions, Tom Petty, he's a fan of Beethoven just like mom...
He's well rounded musically.
I just get scared when he borrows my GL CDs..his room...ugh..He's wanting the Live In Reno for Christmas...

Well I'm also new so, hello ya'll.
I'm a country boy leaving in the city now, so a lot things seem out of place, that's where Gord comes in. Whenever I need to feel the land I'll give it a listen.
--------
he's also a "juggalo", otherwise known as an ICP fan (Insane Clown Posse
-------
ouch! Good on ya for not freaking out on him. As long as he listens to others artists he'll grow out of that phase. I had a buddy who listen to the..stuff. It's fun stuff (extremly sexist and chauvanistic, but none the less) but can get a little weird for my liking (this coming from the guys listing to metal and punk).

But yeah no judging, just wanted to throw my name in the hat.
PS. This is a great site and online community, you all should be very proud. I love the stories from the '60's, '70's and '80's, as a aspiring young journalist I find them very enduring.
