Found face down in his hidey-hole, and looking for all the world like some drunken derelict that walked into the rescue mission, not the hideously vain dictator he used to be. We'll have to see what happens from here, whether his followers give up, or seek revenge. I understand he's going to be tried by an Iraqi court and could face the death penalty.

As long as WE don't execute him or torture him, they won't really have a reason to avenge him. He probably is going to get the death penalty over in Iraq. But why are the Iraqies(forgive my spelling) acting so tough all of a sudden? I've heard about this in class.

Husseiny! Husseiny! Not very brainy,to hide behind bricks in the ground! All powerful one day,he's now old and grey, imagine how embarrasing that sounds!

It's a pretty dumb way to be found!
Layin' still and can't make a sou-ound!
So pull out those bricks,he's all out of tricks! Maybe he'll join ZZ Top and go tourin' around! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

That I did and it's not the first time I've used Triangle either. You may recall the on the main board a topic about a man being arrested who had the same name as GL. The topic title was,".."And we're glad they cleared that up!" Look it up. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

The question is WHO captured him. If you listen to ONLY the american press it was U.S. soldiers and intelligence.

If however you read new sources outside of the U.S. you will consistently hear otherwise.

Two main stories OUTSIDE of the U.S. press:

1) Saddam was held by Kurdish forces, drugged and left for US troops.

Most agree the more likely scenario however, supported by european and middle east intelligence sources is:

2) After his last audiotaped message was delivered and aired over al Arabiya TV on Sunday November 16, on the occasion of Ramadan, Saddam was seized, possibly with
the connivance of his own men, and held in that hole in Adwar for three weeks or more, which would have accounted for his appearance and condition. Meanwhile,
his captors bargained for the $25 m prize the
Americans promised for information leading to his capture alive or dead. The negotiations were mediated by Jalal Talabani’s Kurdish PUK militia.

Either way, all of the press OUTSIDE of the U.S. agree that the U.S. PAID for his capture.
