I was not amazed since I really love the cover of Nine Inch Nails song "Hurt" by Mr Cash. It is one of the most felt songs I think I have heard...I mean Mr. Cash really felt the song, I suppose it goes with having lived the life. He won 6 awards by the way.

He will also be nominated at the MTV Music Awards on Thursday. He plans to attend, despite his poor health. That is one amazing human being.

Watchman, Agreed, I am so glad that he has received them and that he is continuing to remain in the circle of media and publicity. He has so much to offer us all even at his advanced age. Johnny Cash was very influential to my father and his music. Some of the earliest songs I remember of Mr. Cash were sreaming funny, also (I heard one of them Monday on the radio---"A Boy Named Sue"). I am just impressed that he is still concerned with popular events and willing to allow us to share his world, after the death of June, I thought he would withdraw. What a guy, huh?

Kind of sounds like another entertainer musician that we know and love, our Gord.

Johnny never set out to be in mainstream media once he signed with American. All of this just simply fell in his lap. In the past, he would not even show up for his Grammy Award. I think he has won like 15 or something. He is a rebel that does his own thing.

I agree that JC has a lot left to share with the world. What other 71 year old still makes new CD's on a regular basis and has fans that range from 100+ yrs old to teenagers? I have been a Cash fan for a long time too but I wish I could have seen him live.

He does play at The Carter Fold every now and again. The Fold is in TN. and artists play every Sat. and I think Sunday.

It must be around Nashville, huh? Perhaps the chance to hear him might be possible. I was down there this summer...it must not be a common place for all to go to,huh?

He was there a couple of weeks after June died. Everybody and anybody can go to The Fold. Johnny was hospitalized Monday for a stomach condition. They kept him for observation and said that he should be home in a few days. If I would not have been in a wedding the weekend that he was there, my brother and I would have went for sure.

I think that he has a new CD that is almost completed. Can't wait to hear it. American (Rick Rubin's label) is releasing a box set of all Johnny's American CD's which will contain a lot of unreleased material that they did not put on the CD's. I already have all his CD's but am looking forward to the unrealeased material.
