Just in case you're interested, Leon Redbone is coming to Utica, NY on Friday, June 27 for a free concert on the grounds of the Munson-Williams-Proctor Art Institute at 7 pm. Utica is about 90 miles west of Albany and 50 miles east of Syracuse. If you need directions let me know.

I can't get to Utica but I do remember Leon Redbone. A most unusual vocalist. He kind sounds (at times) like a record slowing down on the turntable, but his style is still interesting and amusing. I recall when he did Budwiser commercials, pretty weird! One time in high school,I was cracking people up doing Leon singing Bryan Adam's,"Heaven" in his be-bop style! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Wish I could go there but have a good time just the same Brian. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif Paece it Up! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif (Remeber the group Redbone,"Come and get your love"?)

This will cheer the Canadians up.

Knowing very little about Leon Redbone I checked out his website. On his tour date schedule it lists:

Date City State Venue

On 11 July he will be at the Winnipeg Folk Festival.

Under City it has Manitoba, under
State it has, Canada

This is almost confirming my view that the US sees both Canada and the UK as the 51st and 52nd states.

Looking at the list of performers, I would love to attend the Winnipeg Folk Festival, but sadly will be unable to.

Funny thing, it seems that Gord never wrote a song about Winnipeg, or am I wrong??? I spent quite a lot of time in Winnipeg when I was younger, a lovely city and very friendly people (true to most Canadians I have met). But, is there a song about Winnipeg?
